AT Feathers we have set ourselves the goal of giving the gift of eyesight to 1,000 blind people. We are giving away 1,000 haircuts to people who have never been to the salon before, all we ask in return is they make a donation of £11 to the Fred Hollows Foundation while they are in the salon.
We need your help to find our 1,000 people. For every new person you bring to the salon that has a See the light Cut and Finish for their first visit we will give you a half price Cut and Finish.
The foundations AchievementsPioneered the introduction of modern cataract surgery in low-income countries by dramatically reducing the production costs of high quality intraocular lenses (IOLS) used to restore sight.Following the initiative of the late Professor Fred Hollows, The Foundation helped establish independent and sustainable IOL laboratories in Nepal and Eritrea which now export world class, low cost lenses to over 40 countriesThe foundation has now helped restore sight to over one million people in the developing world. In 2009 over 1.7 million people came to the Foundation for care—that’s more than 3 people every minute.
